When we think to make a website the first step is to buy a Domain name. Now there are many things come into our thoughts.

(1) What domain name we should use ?

(2) From where we buy our domain name ?

(3) The cost of domain name ?

(4) What qualities should be in a good domain name ?

There are many other factors arise in our brain whenever we go to buy a domain name. The main thing is if domain name really play a important role on the success of our website ?

The answer is "YES"

I am trying to explain some rules that may help you to choosing your domain name.

Top level domain (TLD) :- Top level domain means the extension behind the name of your domain ie. Yahoo.com,, google.com,, or abcd.org , ,, So here the name of your domain is yahoo ,, google or abcd, but top level domain means .com , .org , .net, ,, .in ,,, .tv ,, .info. , these all are the example of TLD ( Top level domain)

Now i would suggest you to go with .com . Why ! Because .com with domain looks professional.

It shows good result on google search engine.

It is easy to remember.

.com domain is available and used everywhere in world.

So go with .com domain according to my thinking.

No Hyphen or Dash:- Never use hyphen or Dash with your domain name. Why ?

Hyphen or dash looks unprofessional.

It is hard to remember.

It can create the confusion when user will try to surf your website.

Goggle and other search engine does not rank Hyphen or dash the good value.

Hypen or dash domain can loss the traffic bcoz there will be many other domain without having hyphen or dash similar to your domain name, so visitors may go to their websites instead of coming your website.

Short and meaningful :- Try to buy your domain name shorter and meaningful. Domain which is shorter get more value on search engine (SEO).

It will be easy for your visitors to remember your domain name , and they can easily refer your website to their friends because it can be recognized easily.

Put your website domain some mean. Suppose your website is all about web hosting. Then it is advisable that you can put ur domain name related to webhosting word. It will get more value while crawling of your website by google and other search engines.

The meaningful domain will show what your website is all about.

Avoid numerical number:- Well if to say about this , i think numerical number works ok. but it does not work the best. why ? when your visitor will try to remember your domain name , he can be confuse weather it was two or 2 or to in your domain name, if your domain name is www.webhosting2you.com. It will create confusion. So try to avoid numeric digits in your domain name.

Easy to type :- Your domain name should be easy to type . It will help a lot to get maximum traffic on your website.

Register with genuine domain registrar company:- It is the most important point when u go to buy domain. I would suggest you to register your domain name from the good and reputed company. Never try to buy your domain name from ordinary company. We make website with so much effort. And then suddenly after few months we want to change our web host bcoz of few reason, then many web hosting companies dont allow to transfer the domain name from their server to another server. It create so painful situation. They do not response good to get domain name password and its keys. So our website and domain name get ruins.

So i will suggest to buy a domain name from good reputed domain registrar company. I go with go daddy .com this is the best company to register the domain, we get our domain key at the same time we buy domain from godaddy.com. We are the true owner of our domain name. So i would prefer to be with godaddy.com
